Derrick Lam is a writer whose previous careers as a librarian, information manager, and a recruiter, have provided the ideas for his creative works. A late convert to creative writing, his literary passions are historical non-fiction, crime fiction, and action thrillers. His favourite authors are Raymond Chandler, Michael Connelly, and Matthew Reilly.
He is also a fan of art films and has completed a trilogy of unpublised screen scripts, the Sam Murphy Saga. He plans to novelise these scripts after completing the World Trade Protocol (WTP) series. His first novel, The Recruiter, Book 1 of the WTP series, is heavily influenced by movies like The Seven Samurai and Blade Runner.
